Art: Nativity. And into Egypt.

 

                                                              

I admire NC Wyeth so much, such an artist, but the G.Melcher one is touching to me because instead of a warm stable and lowing cattle, they're so alone, so uncomfortable.  The baby born on the floor. Now tired Joseph on watch and worried. It makes me cry.

I think the two into-Egypt paintings are both Henry O. Tanner.  Leaving town in the night. Naturally, I love the colors.
