With
his usual foresight, Dad suggested more than once that we as a family
should celebrate April 7th, the day he was baptized. With my usual lack
of foresight, we never really did. So I'm celebrating now.
After
all, this was the way he repaid his relatives for the rich heritage he
was born into. His Patriarchal Blessing says, "Your lineage has been
guarded." To my children, that means yours has been, too.
First
among his gifts to his relatives was his baptism. That opened the door
for all of them to have the eternal gifts promised by following the
Savior. His other gifts were each of you.

This was a nice trip, camping at the beach in March. Despite gray
weather, we had a good time. And the Burnses sent us on our way with
St. Patrick's Day treats--a couple of grocery bags with all "green"
snacks--7-Up, onion flavored chips, fudge mint cookies, etc.)

When Josh was born Dad said, "April 7th. This is the day I was baptized."
