Journal - April 1996

Thinking about each of my children--and their father.
These Journal pages are when his kidneys failed and he started dialysis.  (Alert: Faith content!)
He knew he was sick and I called the Doctor.  Instead of taking him to the office we went to Emergency where they checked his oxygen first thing, and commenced a flurry of urgent activity. Oxygen count should be 90; his was 50. Later the Doc said we got him in just in time.
Apparently, because his kidneys were shutting down his lungs were filling with fluid, as well as his chest cavity.  He told me later that he had "felt life ebbing out of him."
I'm reading about all of you in those pages.  You were all so good to me, and so smart and wise and kind.
