More to Elder Blair, Feb 5.

Elder Blair,

How’s it going?  LOVE reading your blog.  You have such an eye for seeing the Human Experience.  We’ve sent a couple of Pouch letters.  Did they arrive?  I'm wondering if the Pouch is a good way to send you mail.  Glad to hear you got the Christmas package at last.

Our Stake is strengthening missionary work.  The way our Stake President talks about it--it's just about loving people  He's a big guy, but just loves everybody.  Talks kindly with less-than-perfect English.  "If you was to want to do that, and to think of someone..."  He really is the best of men, looking out for everyone.  He told us today in Conference about different people in his life who have needed help. He said that one of the men who comes to his house every few months is alcoholic, one of his Webelos from years ago. "He's had so much pain..."   He didn't say it, but you know that he comes because President Hobbs accepts him. In fact, the man comes to his house every Christmas Eve and wants to sleep over.  He wants to sleep on the floor in their bedroom where they are, and they just let him. He comes every Christmas Eve and leaves in the morning.

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We love you, Elder, and pray for you always.  Carry on!

Love,Grandma
PHOTO:  The picture is President Hobbs from today.  We have conferences in the original, Logan Tabernacle.   After the meeting, Sam, a Downs boy in our Stake, saw President Hobbs across the busy room and walked across the stage to get to him.  They met in the middle.
